California Transparency in Supply Chains Act
This act requires retailers and manufacturers doing business in California with more than $100 million worldwide gross receipts to, on or before January 1, 2012, disclose on their website the steps they are taking to ensure their supply chains are free from forced labor, slavery and human trafficking.
While CorporateKey itself is not subject to the stipulations of the Act, we recognize that some of our customers may be subject to that regulation.
CorporateKey has a zero tolerance policy for any factory that is found to be engaged in human trafficking and slavery. We feel that our policies and procedures are consistent with requirements under this California regulation. We require our suppliers to abide by our code of conduct. We also conduct factory inspections which includes a criteria related to unacceptable labor practices embodied in the Act.
Product Safety Statement Concerning CorporateKey Products and California Proposition 65 Chemicals. CorporateKey products meet all applicable federal safety and warning requirements as enforced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and the Federal Communications Commission. CorporateKey products that are shipped to California are also subject to Proposition 65, otherwise known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. Proposition 65 requires consumer product warnings for products shipped to California that contain chemicals known to the state of California to include carcinogens or reproductive toxins unless such chemicals are present below established Safe Harbor Levels or are shown to be present in un-harmful concentrations. Printing inks used on CorporateKey products that are decorated in the U.S. do not contain chemicals tested at concentrations that would require a Proposition 65 warning label. Safe Harbor Level limits have not been fully established by Proposition 65 for all materials used in CorporateKey products. To better serve our distributors and assist them in complying with Proposition 65 requirements, distributors may request that the following Proposition 65 warning be applied to their products prior to shipment:
WARNING: This product may contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.
This warning label will ensure compliance with California Proposition 65 regulatory requirements and can be applied for an additional cost of $0.15 (v) per item. Labels will only be applied when specifically requested by the distributor.
